No win, no fee. No call centres. Just experts.

Davey Law regularly take on cases that have been poorly handled by other solicitors.  Sometimes our clients’ previous lawyers have failed to obtain the right evidence, recognise the significance of an injury or simply do not have the expertise or connections to know where to turn.  Some people just lose confidence in their lawyer.  If any of this sounds familiar, talk to us about changing solicitors.

No two claims are ever the same. Our team of experts in serious injury will look at your case and review the evidence.  Then discuss your concerns, and if appropriate take over your case and turn it around.

We will discuss your claim and concerns you may have about your current solicitor. We may ask you, in strict confidence, to show us copies of documents such as medical reports and correspondence you have received from your current solicitor. That will help us to decide how we can help you and provide you with a plan of action to get your claim back on track.

The way your claim is being handled may simply  not quite meet your expectations.  If you are part way through the process of making your claim but are not happy with the service being provided by your legal team then you are well within your rights to seek advice on changing solicitors.

The most common reasons for wanting to change solicitors

  • Communication or lack of  You never hear from your solicitor and are always chasing them for updates. You feel that you somehow haven’t been given the whole story. They do not seem to be helping you to make decisions and leave you with no option but to agree or disagree with a particular course of action. You feel that they are not clear when answering questions  about their charges.
  • Delay  You just don’t understand why it is all taking so long and your solicitor doesn’t seem able to explain.
  • Clash of personalities Maybe you just don’t like your lawyer or believe that they are not doing their best for you.
  • No point of contact  It is unnerving when you feel like you are always being passed from pillar to post and told that someone new is handling your claim.  You always seem to speak to an assistant rather than the lawyer dealing with your case..

Nobody can stop you from changing solicitors especially if you are unhappy.

Recent Cases

Mrs J was involved in a low speed (but head on) road traffic accident. She experienced physical and psychological symptoms.

Her first solicitors were a “factory” firm. She was passed from one claims handler to another and never met the person representing her. She felt like a number, not a person, and like she was fighting against her own lawyers.

Mrs J was sent to see a GP, then an orthopaedic “expert” (who, it transpired was not a consultant orthopaedic surgeon). The latter said she had suffered aggravation of an underlying condition and even if she hadn’t had the accident she’d have been in he same state in two years anyway.

She also saw a psychologist. He said he ought to review Mrs J in a year’s time. Her solicitors never arranged that.

Mrs J felt like she was being bullied into settling her claim but picked up the ‘phone to us.

We met Mrs J – something her first solicitors had never done. She was in a terrible state and her claim had been poorly handled.

We had to “excavate” Mrs J’s claim. It was almost like starting from scratch.

We obtained her full medical records – something her first solicitors hadn’t bothered to do. With the Court’s permission further expert evidence was obtained and that revealed the true extent of Mrs J’s suffering.

Mrs J provided documents located and we took statements from witnesses to support her claim. We instructed a specialist barrister to advise; he too met Mrs J.

With our help Mrs J received nearly 500% more compensation than she thought she would have received if she hadn’t changed solicitors.
